Hidmona is undertaking several initiatives to expose the foreign interference of the Eritrean regime in Canada. Here are a few of our current campaigns

• Filing to Canadian authorities to stop events that purport to be Eritrean “cultural festivals”. We have provided several evidence that these events are used to intimidate Eritreans who have fled the regime; militarize Eritrean diaspora youth; propagate the policies of the authoritarian government; fundraise for the Eritrean military and re-traumatize refugees. These events have caused several violent protests worldwide including in Toronto, Edmonton and Calgary 2023. The regime in Eritrea has escalated its media coverage and directing from Eritrea to promote violence between Eritrean communities living in democratic countries.
• Working to expose and curtail Eritrean regimes foreign interference in Canada. We are taking several initiative including compilations of reports, meeting Canadian government officials and help run petitions. We have joined coalition to expose the Eritrean regime’s interference on democratic institutions such as community centers and religious places. We are working with relevant Canadian authorities and world organizations to reimpose sanctions related to Eritrea in Canada and at the United Nations level
• Report and recommend corrective actions against Eritrean regime front organizations and individuals running shady operations in Canada to relevant agencies.
• Participated in Canadian Government initiative against foreign interference with policy recommendation on Eritrean perspective
• Advocated to the plight of Eritrean refugees in Libya, Sudan, Israel, Ethiopia and several other countries by writing letters to local and international stakeholders.
